| I am wanting to trade my 1999 Ford Ranger 2wd for a motorcycle to go to technical college with. My Ranger gets ok gas mileage but the motorcycle will get wayyyy more. I just don't know if I should though? What should I do? I will still have a truck. My 79 Ford F150 4X4.

| If your other truck is running go for it also if your going to trade make sure the bike is worth what your truck is. There is some guy here in SA that lost his job and he has a house note and new car note so he just wanted $1800.00 for a 2008 Vulcan he just wanted somebody to pay it off so his credit wouldn't get messed up well at the last minute he decided to try to get more money for it so it's no bike for me anymore I guess it wasn't meant to be. I would have made space in the U-Haul to take it home with me. Sad! GMC |

| Were I you looking for a commuter bike I'd go with an SV650. It is a fine bike for many reasons. But I think it would work really well for a school. It's not so exotic that you'd have to hire private security to watch it and it is small enough to park easily and lane split if that is legal where you are. The aftermarket have really embraced this bike and there is a large variety of bags for it fromsoft to locking hardbags. I think the jealous hater types vent mostly on the chrome on chrome cruisers and race replicas. Even so, I'd still do my normal "preflight" inspection before riding home. If I were collee age I would seriously consider a scooter too. They often have nice built in cargo areas that can swallow up laptops and books. And I think the enviromental whacko booger eating violent liberal types that vandalize vehicles would see the scooter as something that should be left alone. |

| Only you can make that decision...you need to know if the bike will be safe when parked, etc.

| Might want to consider if this will be any fun / safe to drive when the weather gets nasty. How many mile to/from ? What kind of roads ? How dangerous are the other drivers for bikes in that area ? |
