I don't know but the stuff sure stays cold and gets stuff cold. He bought like 10 x 10 square one time, about 1 inch thick. Not sure how much my dad paid for it, but we bought it for our ice chest hopinng it would keep us from buying ice all weekend. About an hour so later, we started hearing funky noises from the bed of the truck. It was all of our can drinks bursting in the ice chest. It froze everything including the meat.

Yep, in the wrong hands it can sure hurt someone and do some funky stuff. You sure don't want to handle it directly on your skin. I would just keep it in the sealed bag it comes in and wrap a wash cloth or thin towel around it to do the dent repair.

So, I wonder if what my dad may have bought that time was a 3 lb slab. It was a slab, I am guessing like 10 x 10 x 1 or 1 1/2 but it sure did not take any time to freeze all of our stuff and it was not a little ice chest. Maybe could have been a 12 x 12 x 1 1/2 and been a 5 lb slab.

I just got back from my local grocery store. Right by the front door and the big bag ice containers was a small chest freezer that said Penguin Dry Ice. It was on sale for .99 per pound regular price $1.39 per pound accoring to red starburst on the front of the freezer. So apparently its about a buck a pound and easy to find.

Course if you want some serious cold (carbon dioxide is only 0degC or 32degF)
you could add some of a common home/shop chemical and get -75C (-100F).
That'll shrink your stretch marks.

There is another add-in chemical I know that works,
my dentist used to use it but now I think it is CIA guys only stuff.
Good to know my gvmt is protecting me from my dentist.
Actually the way the dentist used it really could kill you.

Since the kiddie set frequently doesn't understand the difference
between breaking a finger and breaking it off,
it would obviously be a bad idea to post publicly the name.
Happy to PM any of my mad scientists from the other projects though.

Vid link in earlier post wouldn't work for me, so maybe I'll make my own.

Hahaha, and my kids called my the mad scientist because of my rust removal on that block and the electrolysis. I know one add in ingrediant, that can sure cause some problems for kiddies too if they tried adding it to the ice, and even regular ice. And its very very common and I can assure its in 99.9% of all kitchens in America. Also probably best not to announce publically. But you can sure ask my daughter about it. She did not beleive me either when she was 10 or 11, and now has a permanent scar about the size of a golf ball on her arm. You don't think ice can burn you??? She can tell you it will. I learned one thing, you don't tell kids stuff like that and then say, and don't do this because... They don't beleive you. Just best to be left unsaid.
