No heat! I have a 01 Chevy S10. Sometimes I have heat, sometimes not. If the heating core was bad, wouldn't the heat be off all the time?

first guess would be the blend door actuator. half the time when the go bad, they will work part of the time and not the other. ultimate question is why are you looking for heat?? we have a ton of it down here if you want it.

I agree it sounds like a blend door isn't working correct. My brother had the same problem what he did is he placed the temp button on hot then he placed it back to cold and it fixed it for now.

Pain in the tail to change. It actually has a slider on it.you can do an ole redneck trick and stick a woodchip in it until you get a new one. Don't bother getting a used one. chances are its gonna be bad too. I just take a chip an size it up. It actually still works, the pickup i did it to was about 5 years ago.
