Talking engine build-up help.

ok, since i got a set of free heads off my brother recently i decided to start up the engine build again(2 years going!?). anyways, i ran the cast numbers just a minute ago. 376450, from a 305 with a 60 cc chamber. the heads i have for the engine are for a 350 with a 76 cc chamber, 333882. my question is which heads should i use? right now the block is a 350 bored out .020 and has hypertatecticsomethingortheother flat top pistons waiting to be installed. i am not sure of the deck hieght at the moment. so how will the heads effect my compression and the ponies i get out of the engine??

Hey mud,

I'd go with the 76cc head. That flat top piston with the 60cc will bring your cr too high meaning you're going to need a radical cam. Find out about that deck height and check it with the cr calculator at Wallaceracing.com/calculators just to get an idea. Forgot to mention this, 9.5:1 is the max I'd go with today's gas. Something in the 9ish is good.
