| ok, since i got a set of free heads off my brother recently i decided to start up the engine build again(2 years going!?). anyways, i ran the cast numbers just a minute ago. 376450, from a 305 with a 60 cc chamber. the heads i have for the engine are for a 350 with a 76 cc chamber, 333882. my question is which heads should i use? right now the block is a 350 bored out .020 and has hypertatecticsomethingortheother flat top pistons waiting to be installed. i am not sure of the deck hieght at the moment. so how will the heads effect my compression and the ponies i get out of the engine??

I'd go with the 76cc head. That flat top piston with the 60cc will bring your cr too high meaning you're going to need a radical cam. Find out about that deck height and check it with the cr calculator at Wallaceracing.com/calculators just to get an idea. Forgot to mention this, 9.5:1 is the max I'd go with today's gas. Something in the 9ish is good.
