| Random Idea Would it be possible to modify a 2007 f-250 to be able to tow and haul as much as a 2007 f-450? |

| Sure, but you would need to be finacially commited. It would involve upgrading the suspension and the gear ratio. And in the end get very $$$. When the figure what a truck can haul/pull, they base it on the size of the leaf springs, and if you look, there are more under the F450 and heavier duty. I am not sure what they cost, since it has been years since I bought something for a ford, but I know its not cheap. Plus, depending on what you wanna tow, you may need to change out the gears in your diff for more low end power. But even with this said, y not sell or trade the truck, being that it is new, and buy the F450? It will save time and money in the long run. Just my opinion though.

| In a word,,,no. The F-450 has a larger rear axle that the 10.25" F-250 axle could never compare to. The F-450 also has 19.5" tires, and wheels that also contribute to the over 26,000 lbs GCWR. The axle rating alone is 12,000lbs. The 10.25 does not even compare. One would have to change the entire drivetrain to be equal to, or greater than the F-450. Sounds to me like you are trying to do what Toyota is claiming to be able to do, and soon they will find out that, they can't. The world of big trucks are limited to big trucks. (even though these are considered light duty). Not taking anything away from the F-250, or F-350, it is just not an F-450. If you need the added capabilities of a 450, it would be a better idea to have purchased it from the factory. This way the dealer can't complain about modifications made to such a new vehicle, that will no longer be covered because of said modifications, and the state law enforcement won't have a cow if you get pulled over pulling more weight than the door jamb sticker states the truck is rated for. |

| Biggest factor here. The Frames! The 350 and 450 use a bigger frame then the 250's along with the stuff 75 said.
