| Need Truck Advice OK Im in the market for a new truck. I NEED a 3/4 or bigger, heavy duty towing package, Manual transmission, and 4WD. Currently I have a 1990 model Dodge with over 200,000 miles on it. I've heard that the new dodges are having transmission problems. But I also heard that the New Chevys are having Braking problems when used as a heavy towing vehicle. I will mainly be towing 4 or 5 horses at a time and occassionally a flat bed loaded with hay. So Post away perferences for a TOWING vehicle What would pick and Why please. thanks Last edited by top dun; 09-11-2004 at 06:13 PM. |

| I am a HUGE Dodge advocate and always have, always will be. I have a 2002 1500 Dodge Ram 4x4 that is set up for towing. I just crested 50k on my baby and have NEVER had ANYTHING done to it except for oil and filter changes and an air filter that was grose.
I like Chevy's but Im a Dodge girl all the way. Thats my reasons for you to stick with Dodge

| Why do I think you should get a Ford? Ford is the towing leader of Trucks. The new F-150 comes stock with 300 horsepower, something you'd have to pay sever thousand dollars to upgrade to a Hemi, or get a Chevy 2500 to get that kind of power. Ford, Dodge, and Chevy all have problems. If you buy a used vehicle you're gonna have problems. Go test drive a Dodge, Ford, and Chevy truck. Whichever you like the most, get it. FFC

| i don't think top dun cares about looks by the sounds of it. besides the new dodges and chevys are sh!t ugly! also dodge chick your list of not having problems will change i'll 100% guarantee it! brakes are under general maintance all vehicles at some point in time will have to be done no matter what company makes them. i donno if any one ever noticed but also alot of times some one else makes the transmission besides the big 3. like ford and chevy both used a borg warner t-5 (non world class) and (world class) and the 700r4 both good transmissions if i where you top dun, and didn't care what companie to go with and could afford a brand new truck. i would go with the best deal, and look at it this way get the extended warantee. the truck you buy will either be made on friday or monday hope you get a monday truck. |
