| Oxygen sensor on 2002 2500 HD How does the O2 sensor effect the motor and is there anyway to bypass it. I was told that "modifying the Converter" would help performance and mileage on a 6.0. I have noticed that the exhaust has an O2 sensor on the backside of the converter. |

| I believe the first one tells the computer how the engine is running. The second (after the converter) tells you if the converter is doing it's job. I know you can eliminate the converter, but then you'll have to replace your (second) O2 sensor(s) with an O2 simulator so you don't get the warning/ check engine light. I don't think "modifying" or eliminating the converter is going to get you any significant gains. I'd leave it. |
