| There is a little Christmas Tree arrangement behind/under the distributor. It taps the oil system at the top of the block. A simple 1/8" NPT tee/nipple combo. If you have an actual oil pressure gauge on your dash, there will be a diaphram actuated rheostat with one electrical lead attached (usually on the passenger side) to one side of the tee. The other side accepts a make/break switch (two leads)for an low lube oil prsssure warning light on the dash. Even if you have a gauge the other switch must be left in place. It is incorporated into the choke system. Just pop the dist cap and unscrew the affected switch. Make it up with a tiny bit of teflon tape, and resist the urge to overtighten. It won't leak - even if it does, it is easier to go back and tighten further than replace a sheared pipe fitting (esp. the one in the block). |
