Engine Swap

Alright my question is this- I have an 03' Sierra 2500 HD that currently has an 8.1 in it. How difficult would it be to put a duramax motor in it?

Welcome to the site;
Lots of issues here. electrical is a nightmare, you may or may not run into emissions prooblems, you will not have any type of warranty.
Here is a step by step for your swap.
1: go to the car wash and get your rig cleaned up.
2: drive your clean truck down to your local dealership.
3: drive home your new truck that already has a Duramax.

You will be time, money, and many headaches ahead by just trading your truck in.

agreed...the electrical will drive you absolutely crazy. and odds ae this swap will probably drop the resale value tremendously

there are sooo many differences and conversions that would have to be made, and some of them just will not work, it would be much more cost effective to simply trade it aon a duramax/allison equipped truck.

The headaches and time alone, not including the cost make the trade/buy a more feasible option.
