Complete Body swap 97->91

Hey I'm new on here I own a 91 GMC 2500 4x4 and the body is rotten. I got a 97 GMC 2 wheel drive real cheap and the body is mint other than a few minor dents and scratches. My Plan is to put the entire body of the 97 onto the 91. I know front fenders and grill and rear box is easy enough to do but I also want to put the cab on it. I was thinking of switching the steering column and dash and wiring to the new cab but i see that's a big enough job in itself. I'm now thinking of putting all the 97 cab guts on that truck as well. I only need to know if it's possible to hook up my cluster and steering column to the old truck.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Sorry no answer but GOOD LUCK i think it could be done but some serous time is going to be involved

Yeah thanks. Hoping not too take too too long. I'm hoping to have it done by june maybe. (got no garage) My biggest issue i think is how to hook up the Tach to the older truck which has no tach. Does it connect to the distributor some how. If I could even get some direction as to where to look for wiring and parts diagrams or anything
