tranny shifts funny when raining

hey guys (and gals) new to the forum.
i have a 95 gmc 1500 , 4.3 auto o.d.. the truck has 430 000 km's and this past summer the tranny started to shift hard/late or stumble when the temp outside is cool or it's damp-it's worse if it's raining. no codes come up, the fluid/filter has always been maintained. the oil is new now and it was perfectly fine before as is the filter. i'm leary of bringing the truck to a tranny shop (they always say you need a new tranny). the truck has never been worked on except for regular service. there is no slipping, noise and it works perfectly fine on nice sunny or warm days.-heh, no i can't drive only on those days. i'm stumped. any help would be great!

could be a loose plug on the tranny wiring that is letting moisture in.

well it seems to be fixed now (changed out the speed sensor). it's funny, you would think this would set off the check engine light or come up as a code when we had it hooked up at a buddies shop (??). ended up some guy that was there had the same problem with his truck (his engine light came on and there was a few codes), same problem and symptoms. oh well, fixed.
