| 1. fuel meter/sender b/o for guage 2. ign switch for trans problem, when acting up stop, turn off truck, restart and drive if o/k (trans loosing ign feed) 3. MAF sensor for poor acceleration/chugging, GM pumps whine quite abit normally, b/o pump usually long crank/no start (can't build pressure cranking) you should put guage on and tape to windshield then drive, be carefull a b/o MAF can fool you, a poor running engine will give erratic readings while driving. don't just change parts diagnose a little |

| if the tranny was not recieving info then i think it would throw a code but i could be wrong. i just replaced the ignition switch in my chevy 2 days ago because the tranny could not recieve info. the tranny was stuck in third gear and would only manually shift from 2nd to 3rd and vice versa. do you have a check engine light lite? i would change the sloenoids.

| No check engine lite came on. Slow exceleration shifts fine, when I slam it to the floor it sits at the same RPM but does not go into gear. I drove it around last night a bit and thats pretty much whats going on. Got some nasty snow/ice last night and this morning on the way to work really did not have a chance to look it over any more. |

| yeah, don't want to try kicking it down in the slop we got hit with, unless you like to be in the ditch.

| Talked with the dealership I bought it from today. Even though it was sold as is with no warranty they are willing to check over the fuel system and buy any replacement parts needed but they will not pay for installation. Funny thing is, they expect to be installing the parts and at least making some money off me, but I'm just taking the parts and running. I'm gonna see if they can check the tranny to even though I have pretty much ruled that out as a problem. |

| One indication of a bad pump is hard starts. My 98 whinned like crazy. On the other hand my 97 although a diifferent design pump, was very silent. I replaced both pumps. Also if you've ran it dry a couple times get ready to replace it. It does not like no fluid. they are cooled by the fule in the pump. The tranny issue may also be from a shift kit improperly installed. Forget one spring or ball and you're done. Good luck |
