HELP!! mileage

My mileage meter stopped working. so now its not marking how many miles its going through. any ideas?

i think that year is gear driven instead of electronic, not sure though, haven't had my hands on that model year.

does the speedo read your speed, if so the cable is fine and its the guage-if not its the speedo cable

If it's the one I'm thinking of you can gain access to it through the dash with a couple sizes of torx.
Same setup the international rentals used to have and I'd somtimes mess with the guy
by returning the truck with 3,000 miles less than he rented it to me.
I knew him and I'd reset it to correct after laughing. Locks only keep honest people honest.
Two screws hold the gears on and they are locked together by a small plastic strip on tumblers.
May just be bent off, if broken, make one from the heavy plastic garbage bag ties
that look like a set of daisy chained arrows with a pull hole.
If you been in the dash before, this should be a 15-20 min job.
