| hi im new and i wanted to ask if anyone ever had transmission mounts welded and if it lasted and what it cost or if i should buy used transmission my truck is 2001 2500hd 6.0l480e transmission thanks in advance 4 any help |

| Auto. trans housings are cast, what I've always called pot metal, probably not correct term. But welding will not work very well or last very long. Is it the mount under the rear of the trans? If so I think the tailshaft, which the mount is on is removable. If that is the case and the trans is other wise good might just be able to change just the tailshaft housing and not the entire trans.
