Transmission leak between Trany and tranfer case

I have 06 Denali that was wrecked and I am rebuilding. Found a leak between transfer case and Automatic transmission. So we pulled the transfer case thinking it was the front seal leaking. Front seal was fine, so we pulled the extension housing off of the rear of the tranny and found fluid it the housing. There is no way to service the rear seal of the output shaft of the tranny with out pulling the tranny and sisassembly. After looking at the tranny not sure if there even is a seal there. On closer observation I noticed a small factory opening to the tranny oil pan in the tranny on the bottom where the extension housing attached. Since this was transported by carrier to me I am thinking that with the nose of the truck up in the air oil could have run out of oil pan into this extension housing. Does this sound reasonable. Does anyone no if this probable? The truck only has 12000 miles and the motor and tranny were unaffected by crash. Any thoughts?

first there is a small feed hole at the back of tranny case to lubricate the shaft so thats normal, but there is no seal on back of tranny only a bushing. just put silicone or buy a new gasket for tail housing and bolt it back up shouldn't have a problem...
