New 08 Lift

This is my first GM product. 2008 1500 reg cab Z-71 4x4.I have always had 1 ton fords, I was wondering if anyone has had any experiance with a 2.5 leveling kit. I did a search on this and noticed that the older models have some kind of torsion keys and the 08's use a spacer on top of the springs. Does this cause as much of a problem as the torsion keys? Also does anyone have any photos of their `08 truck with a leveling kit. I have to get this thing up, it looks like a 2 wheel drive!
I`ve never had a coil spring truck, always leaf springs in the front, and a leveling kit didnt hurt anything. Any help would be nice.
Thanks, Jeremy

Talking

Ready lift makes a leveling kit. I thought about putting one on my 02 1500 HD, but then changed my mind.

I have a 07 GMC 2500 HD. It sits just as high as the Dodges or Fords in the rear and pretty close in the front.

The reason I decided NOT to go with a leveling kit is this....

....... when I do tow a "HEAVY" load, the trucks rear settles a bit and the truck rides level. Every Ford that I see with a "HEAVY" load looks like it is doing a wheelie down the highway. This is why the GM trucks are designed this way.

That being said, if you want a leveling kit, go to this sight.

do not go with a leveling kit of ebay for that price. you will get poor quality stuff that if you do anykind of offroading or even hit the right pot hole it is broke. i got a lift kit for my bronco when i still had it and it lasted about a week before i saw cracks in the rear blocks and took it off and sent it back for a refund. suspension stuff off ebay is garbage

Perhaps most of the time this is true, eBay is buyer beware, but as long as you do your research and buy from a trusted seller, you can find good deals. But for the most part, i would not buy anything that would affect the safty of an automobile with out being able to personally put my hands on it.....

i got a 3" lift off ebay and no problems. but it is also made by rough country too. there was no diff. between fab-tech that everyone says to get or sell me for more money to the rough country. witch i have heard of both so i went with it

Thanks for all the info. I really like the rancho lift, alil pricy but its nice. I just had flowmaster exhaust installed yesterday and it sounds good until the engine goes into 4V mode, then it sounds like its skipping. You couldnt here it with the stock exhaust but with louder pipes it is very noticeable.
