| 2008 2500HD duramax lift/airbags/wheels help? I just bought a new 2008 GMC 2500HD duramax, and I am thinking of throwing a levelling kit in the front and some air bags in the back. This should hopefully give me some added room for a little bigger rubber as there is hardly enough room for the factory rubber in the front. How well will this setup work/look like? Will this void any warranty? I am also thinking of getting some new wheels with a small offset to get a little wider stance, but not sure how well this will work/look too. I am interested in getting and advise from anyone that has already played abit with one of these or know anyone who has. Any info or pics that anyone might have would be awesome. Thanks |

| Welcome to the site: Personally, I love the look of trucks, mid sized or oversized that are lifted. Wider rims sometimes make all the difference in the world. Now I cannot specifically help from experience on doing this, but I can answer your question on warranty. They way GM has it set up for their warranty, if you alter any part, that part is no longer covered, with in reason. And if due to alterations from factory design, if major issues occur, then troubles will have to be investigated. Now in other words, if you lift the truck, and put larger tires on it, and the front shocks were to give out for example, they are no longer covered under the bumper to bumper warranty, however, if once and done, the tranny were to quit. GM would investigate. Depending on the miles and actual failing parts, they may or may not cover it. Granted, in an effort ot not spend any money, they will more then likely not cover the claim, and say due to larger tires and added strain, you did the damage, but the circumstances will determine this. It is usually a good idea to leave it all alone until the warranty runs out, just to be on the safe side, unless you understand and can plan for the infinte possibility of something failing. I am not sure if this actually made any sense written out, it did in my head....LOL. Hope it helps.
