2001 2500HD Question

Just lost my truck, caught on fire. I will put pics on the truck after the fire soon. But found a newer one to replace it with. Just wondering if anyone has heard or knows of any problems with the 2001 GMC 2500HD standard cab 8ft bed SL model. It has the 6.0 v8 in it. I ran a carfax on it came back clean, as a 1 owner vehicle. But the thing that worries me is the milage. It has 180000 on it. Never been plowed with, looks like a grandfathers truck by the pics. I am able to get this for $5000.00

The reliability of the LS engine is second to none. The thing is bullet proof, and makes great power. I would not be very concerned about the miles on the engine. Now as far as the transmission is concerned, I feel that the 4L80E is gonna be your big money item. The 80 is big, it is heavy, and it is expensive.
Becasue of your previous truck, you are already aware of the axle disconnect, and you have been on this site long enough to know about the little gitches like the steering column, and ABS pump.
If you are aware of the cost of the transmission, you will not be going in with blinders on.
That looks like a truck that is in decent shape, although that front valence could use a couple fasteners.
