| weird revving i have a 2002 gmc sierra 1500. when i put it in park the motor revved up to about 1200 rpm. it doesnt normally idle there. it just started today i was just wondering what it could be. there is nothing wrong with the throttle cable i checked that. |

| Welcome to the site; High revving engines at idle is a reasonable indication that there is an intake, or vacuum leak. Check for leaks. |

| a can of carb cleaner will work wonders on finding a vacuum leak!

| My 2000 1500 did the same thing. it was a TPS goin bad. i unhooked the TPS and the idle droped down to like 700 rpms. Try having the computer scaned for codes first, I had a TPS code stored in history, that led me to the TPS. |

| if the check engin light is on, scan it before runnin in circles if not, check your pcv. if thats good, ceck for vacuum leak
