 | 2000 4.3 engine swap hey everybody i have a 2000 Sierra new body style with a 4.3L V6 i wana swap it out for a V8 preferably a 5.3 or 6.0 ho whard would this be and how much would it cost. Or would it just be wiser to add onto the V6? any help thanks |

 | welcome to the site. well its not hard just time consuming. a new computer with the motor, motor mounts, engine wire harness, are you going to get a crate motor or getting one out of a junk yard? out of the junk yard look into replacing all gaskets and new water pump. it all depends on what you want.

| has anybody done this sucessfully? if so any feedback or advice will be taken into consideration and id probally get a pullout of a junkyard and rebuild it but does any one know if the tranny from my v6 will work with a 5.3? |

| your trans will work just fine. and a rebuild from a junkyard is a good way to go.
