front diff question

I have a 1995 1/2 ton sierra with a 14 bolt rear. My question is does any one know what size ring gear the front would be if not is there a id tag on it some where?

If everything is factory, the ID tag in the glove box should have the code. And replacing what you need finding the right part by vehicle is easy at a local repair store too. Just a thought.

Regardless of the rear axle (probably a SF c clip 14 bolt anyway) the 1/2 ton truck with 6 lugs only used a 8.25" ring gear up front. This front diff was the only one available.

Where are my manners? Welcome to the site.........

Yes sir, SF stands for semi floating. This means that the axle shaft provides most of the support for the rear. This is a flanged axle, and the wheel lug nuts bolt directly to the axle shaft. This axle, while strong, is not quite the same as the other Full floating designs.
