| Power steering pump and starter? And a few other things I'm assuming? That's all? LOL! Yeah, like everyone here has said, those things go on older vehicles and will need to be replaced. It's all a matter of how much you want to spend and deal with. Maybe you don't trust this truck for longer trips which would be understandable. My 1993 has had: Radiator All the brakes all around at least twice Heater Core Power steering pump Gas tank Fuel lines All new brake lines Fuel pump - twice Water pump - twice Front fender Blower motor Door handle Ignition Coil Intake gasket Oil pump Exhaust - twice Ignition switch Wiper motor Axle seals wheel bearings Shocks Paint Okay, and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. Bet your truck is looking pretty good now, eh? It's all a matter of what you want to deal with and what you can afford. I'd love a new truck but finances won't permit it. So, I'm loving my old one.

| oh well i have replace about half of that stuff, lets see first i bought two new fuel pumps oh yeah lets not forget the lines too since after i replaced it the first time i was at my dads house one night and his crazy ex-wife thought it was still his truck and dumped oil and some other stuff that i'm not sure what it was into the gas tank, so yeah that was a pain and i had to clean the gas tanks out for hours because i couldn't buy a new one thank god it didn't destroy my engine. Then i destroyed my power steering pump when i burnt out my 4wheel ecm and locked it in 4wheel hi for two weeks and didn't know it so i had to replace the actuator and the ecm and the power steering unit. I'm not sure if thats all that it broke though because everyday since then when I'm driving between 35 and 45 mph the whole truck shakes like it having an epileptic fit lol, and the i broke the starter bolts off into the block in which i then broke the tungsten extractor bits off into the bolts as well so that was fun too. I also burnt out the neutral safety switch out on the trans when i took it off to fix the starter. I'm sure that there has been more but I've been at work all day and am retarded right now. But i still love this truck because i have learn a thousand ways how to do stuff lol. Anyway thanks for all of your post i think I'm going to keep it.

| Hey as long as you are not replacing engines & transmissions and the body is in good shape-----Keep It. I still own a 1982, 1991, 1995 & 1998 4wd's. No payments, cheap usage taxes, and only liability insurance..sure is a money saver compared to a new one..

| if they are really bad they will be torn apart and you will notice right away. However, to check to see if they need to be replaced, get under the truck, with it in park and try twisting the drive shaft, if it has more then a slight turn in it, they are in need of replacement. This is what a new or good one looks like.... ![]() And this is what one in really bad shape looks like..... ![]() Just as a reference or an idea. As you can see, the bad one is rusted and torn apart.... Not all get this bad, but if the ends are seperating, then it needs replaced.
