| Continued 96 Rotor prolem There doesn't seem to be any threaded holes on this assembly. I have attached pictures. Am I missing something? Last edited by Djpgmc5.74x4; 07-25-2008 at 10:36 AM. Reason: spelling |

| Hey man, are you trying to replace the rotors or the bearings? either way you need to press the studs out to seperate them, use a punch and hammer, perferably a brass punch, OH and wear some saftey glasses, a little heads up! (MIGHT also want to remove the abs sensor to avoid damadge when pushing out the studs, its a pain i know but could save you some $$$....

| Same for chevy k2500? I have been looking for info on front rotor replacing for my 1996 chevy k2500. The rotors just don't come off after removing the caliper. It must be the same as the GMC shown here? So I must remove the whole wheel and punch out the studs from the back or is it possible while the wheel is installed? Thanks for any info |

| Welcome to the forum! I see you searched and found you answer in an old post. Yes you must take the nut off, pull the whole hub assembly off then knock the studs out, a long drift works well. check the bearing before pulling it apart, if it is at all rough feeling change both

| Thanks for the confirmation. Not sure what a drift is and how about reassembly ( the studs). Just wack them back in? Thanks |

| im sure a drift in the terminology that he used it in refers to a long punch. the studs do not necessary beat back in. they can be but pull themselves back in when you reattach the tire. |

| Ok, I'm starting to see the light. One last clarification. Is it possible to punch out the studs, swap rotors and reinstall studs without removing the wheel from the axle. Seems like it might be Thanks |
