burn out

i just bought a 2008 gmc 1500 sle 4x4 and i tried to do a burn out the past few days but it sounds like there is a restricter or something on the wheels and wont allow me to do it and i was wondering if anyone knew how to get the truck to burn out

the newer trucks good luck with that. it all has to do with the traction control and the computer. my brother in law had a envoy and we tried and the only thing it would do is if you were turning a corner from a stop and hit it it would only chirp the tires . have you tried to start on some dirt and ease it on to payment yet that might be the only way.

GM's do not have enough power to burn out.

Sorry, I had to.

I own two Chevy's so I can talk poop. But yeah, the computer is going to try and stop you.

03 is right, with the traction control and all the computer assited programs built in, it is nearly imporrisble. And if you were trying to do a stoped burn out(a.k.a. brake stand) then with the new style abs systems, that will also never happen....

and as for chevy's not having enough power..... I think I will let that comment go! LOL....

hahaha, gotta love the gubberment and their little safety devices. if you want to do a burn out then you will have to sink a lot of money into a programmer to get rid of some of the junk they put on the truck. your truck also has a traction control device, so that will apply the brakes when it feels the wheel slipping.
