lol i have never heard anyone use the expresion c.r.s. besides me and a couple guys at work. usually it is something in the box that is burnt up. maybe a grounded wire inside it. or a wire culd have been getting chafed on the collumn for some time and finally gave way.

went out today and took the power box off the fire wall and from the inside , no burnt wires anywhere only tons of old grease took 3 hrs and two cans of brake cleaner just to clean and see the wires . nothing . went back and looked at the fried 4 way flasher, it was the solid green wire . started tracing it from steering column through the box out the plug and started down the frame but started raining . I'm thinking , according to the book (Chilton) the green wire goes to the right tail light housing so there must be a break in the wire grounding into the frame draining the battery . how does sound ?

have you thought about replacing the bulb housing? they are your grounding points for the lights. they are tied directly to the body. i have seen weirder things so..

don't think that it as first thing we did was to unplug the wiring harness at the rear tail lights . made no difference . thats why i think it's in between that and the front of truck . anybody ever have a short along the rail wiring even though it in the plastic tubing ?

Schumacher Battery Charger 6 & 12 volt - eBay (item 260279688212 end time Sep-02-08 05:25:25 PDT) It's this brand but the one I have has more bells & whistles to it or more to go wrong with it.

Glad you got it fixed.

2003 DEAD battery syndrome

OK, guys, from what I have seen, a drain on my battery is very common (after 5 days gone). I have seen mis-adjusted brake light switch as one thing to check. Anyone have another short answer. I just had the GM mechanic from next door check out the truck and now the battery is dead again. He did the parasite test.
