Speaker sizes

I think my door speakers are blown, because they make an awful rattling racket. So after some searching I can not find any site that will tell me the exact size of the door speakers. I am not really intersted in replacing them with anything oversized, I just want some decent quality speakers back in their places. So doe anyone know what size the speakers are in the doors and the ones behind the seat in the corners of the cab????

so did mine. i just packed space between buffle and diffusor with wall insulation. surprisingly, noise's gone, and i have aftermarket much louder head unit. they hold well.
i could not locate any tears in diffusor or unglued areas, but they did rattle. problem is, buffle is non-standard and it is hard to replace speaker. they did good job forcing you to buy OEM thus rigging.

Well I have at least one front speaker that is blown and one rear that is blown. So I decided to buy new. Trouble was I really didnt want to spend $100 on speakers, I know I'm a cheap *******, but in all honesty aas long as it sounds half way decent I really dont care.
So I began my metro serch for speakers under $100 and found that it was going to be next to impossible unless I wanted to just buy one 6.5" and one 4" x 6". Which was going to cost me a little over $50 for some really cheap speakers. Next thing I came home, checked on-line and found the site I listed before and ordered 4 speakers for $63 including the shipping. The only draw-back is having to wait on ups. Oh, I went ahead and upgraded the rear pillar speakers to 5" x 7". Which I think they will work, worse case scenario they will have to be mounted on the outside of the interior trim, but with a speaker grille on it, so it should look okay.

Well I am almost certain my trtuck has only 4 speakers; 6.5" in the doors, and 4 x 6 in the side pillar almost head-rest high. Those little 4 x 6 are a real P.O.S. (my opinion) and probably should have either been mounted / designed to fit in a lower location so it wouldnt be almost in your ear and would hopefully accomidate a larger speaker like 5 x 7 or 6 x 9.
I ordered the the 5 x 7 to go into the pillar. Which will mean that I get to do some modifying when they arrive. I will probably have to mount the speaker on the interior side of the pillar trim piece, which will involve oversizing a hole and cutting that nice side trim to accomidate the larger speaker. I just hope I wont have to add an extension ring of some type due to speaker depth. Well they should be here sometime around mid-week and I will know then.
Hey "animals" check your local craigslist for some speaker boxes. I tried to get some speakers off of there but was a little slow in doing my check, which means somebody beet me to it. If you are not familiar with "craigslist" then I will see if I can give you a little crash corse. The site is www.craigslist.org , you can create your own account for free(you dont have to have an account to make purchases or inquirys but you do to post and sell), just provide a valid e-mail address and adhere to their policys. Second you will search by state, then the citys they provide for the area you live in. When you get down to the actual search you will want to check a few categorys, auto parts, and electronics. You may also want to search by a maximum dollar value of $50 for this particular item. Some sellers provide phone numbers some only provide the link to e-mail for the sale.
If you are all ready familiar with "craigslist" then I probably wasted a whole lot of time for nothing, but a lot of people are not familiar with it. Its a great site and it is getting better and more popular all the time. good luck.......................
