2" lowering shackles on 96 Sierra update...didn't like how my 1996 Sierra SWB was 34.5" in the rear and 32" up front (from the ground to wheel well) so I installed Belltech's 2" lowering shackles last weekend. It lowered the rear exactly 1.5" to 33". All in all, it's improved but I'm not satisfied with the rear still 1" higher than the front. May have to bite the bullet and buy the hangers also to level the girl out. Perfectionism is a disease... Dave

the shackles didnt have different mounting locatons. most allow you to go from 1.5 to 3 inches.

I used the top shackle holes to get what the instructions say are the max (2")lowering with Belltech #6400. Haynes says stock is 32" front 34" rear but mine was 34.5" Yes, I'm obsessed with the level "look" on my truck. I can see a 1" difference. the top of the shackle comes pertner within an inch of the bed underside now so it may be as low as she'll go without hangers...

dont get me wrong i like a racked truck but its got to have the front bumper just off the ground and the back a lttle higher. i am not a fan of stock hight or higher trucks. least not 2wd ones. i have had a couple 4wd trucks and only one of them has been lifted on 35s. it was nice and all but the ride sucked. i would rather go canyon carving low

Vibration after rear 2" lowering shackle install well, got a vibration between 45 & 65 mph that feels like driveline after installing rear 2" lowering shackles. parts store didn't tell me I might need to also install a shim to offset the angle change assuming that's what's goin on... anyone had this situation and can share their experience, I would appreciate hearing it. Thanks Dave

the parts store is right. you have to correct your driveline angle. it is relitively simple. did you do anythingto the front end. usually if you have avibration from your driveline it shakes all the time.. when its certain speeds its in the front end
