Skip, miss, cut-out

Hey guys I got a 1988 seirra 3500 with a 350 5.7. The motor was new about 10000 miles ago and I have had this problem for awhile now. When at slow speeds where I am barley touching the throttle the truck will skip miss and cut-out. It will act almost as if its not jetted right but its got tbi. The only mod i have done is a flowtech dual exhaust without cats. It has a leak in it could that be my problem?

you might check the computer codes. Drivability problems can be tough but I think 03chevy has all the basis covered! I dont think you can be to thourough with the gas prices like they are!

codes are great if its simple. I think your problem would be better addressed with a good scan tool, so you can see the actual sensor readings. I sounds like an intermitant fault which is not setting codes

I think the 88 year was before OBD II computers. Get your hands on a Chiltons or Motors manual for the truck and it will tell/show you which two proms in the diagnostic plug to jump with a paperclip or wire. It will then flash any codes through the service engine light. I used to do this on my 87 Chevy and it was a lot cheaper than buying a scan tool.

a scan tool may show a weak part causing a problem, where a a code check does not.
