Newbie Question??? Hey Guys (and Gals), I'm new to the forum... Just bought an 08 Sierra 1500 4x4 Extra Cab SLE, steel gray, cross country, etc... I have a hard time leaving things alone! But, so far all I've done is add a Line-X color-coded bed liner. Sometime soon will come a Borla exhause and some running boards... One thing that bugs the **** out of me is the lack of auto-up on the windows... Ideas? Mike

i know you can change the way the doors lock and unlock but not sure if you can adjust how the windows roll up and down. always thought that was an option in a package.

| welcome to the forum. that is not a option that comes from the factory on all cars, trucks. but i did see it on one car and it is not really worth it to me. going down yeah but up you have to play with it to get it to set where you want it if you want to ride with the windows open.

They do not install auto up so your dog or child can not hang themselves from your window. You would have to build a new switch with the same connectors and contacts on both sides of the switch that the current one has on the down side. Hammer

Does the Caddilac Escalade not have auto up? Maybe I just need to readjust to driving American... My imports have had this feature for several years now. Once you get used to a feature, it's hard to go back. I just figured there was a module from an Escalade or even a Tahoe that we could install and have the feature... Maybe I was wrong.

I've been driving a european import (VW) for the past several years... and it has the auto up & down on all four windows. They have some way of sensing resistance, so if you (or your pet or your child) block the window's path, it reverses. I'm really glad to be back in a truck! I just figured this feature was standard fare by now...

if you install a remote start usually they have a button you can push that lets you roll the windows up or down automatically.. it is only an option on some... i think ready remote has it.. you can buy that at your local autozone and if you have a little bit of electrical know how you can do it yourself... you can go online and get the exact color sceme for your wires also.. thats a plus

all your vehicles are going to have that resistance sensor item. safety feature to keep your fingers from getting whacked off when you roll it up.
