| Don't feel bad my 2003 2500 went through 3 set in 30,000 miles to but it was 2 on the back and one set on the front , don't bother with spending the big bucks on rotors and pads it won't do you any good. my dealer replaced the first set on the rear with around 5,000 on it then at about 9,000 they got bad again this time they woulded do anything for me ( the head service mang. that helped me with the first set was no longer there because he was giveing / doing stuff under warranty when he wasn't suppose to like my first brakes) so i let them go as long as i could but then the front ones went . the best thing the dealer and parts people tell me is to lube the sliders every few 1,000 miles ( pain !) but was told this was the only thing to do. and everybody i talked to said to go with the cheap rotors and mid grade pads that buying the exp. stuff won't last anylonger. now for useing your truck for plowing and getting snow up inside the wheels is not going to do any thing to them ! if you had a snow storm and drove your car or ? through the snow on the roads you are going to get as much in the wheels and on the rotors as you are your truck plowing and more then likely you are not getting that much in the back rotors as you are the front that is getting the snow first the back ones are going through after you have plowed the snow , yes you can warp a rotor if its really hot and say you take your hose and put the cold water right on them then yes it might warp but this isn't what your problem is its just a bad thing GM did. i was even told that i wasn't useing my brakes enough ! i should ride them more etc..and yes i used my 2500 for plowing my 2 drive ways it did plow good i got rid of it with 30,000 on it and now have a silverado 1500 and i plow with a 1979 GMC K25 with 62,000 miles on it its a beast ! but do your self a favor and just by the cheaper stuff remeber sometimes the box is the only thing diffrent not whats inside ! |

| My 04 has never gone through rear rotors. Is the e brake cable frozen any rotor will rust after sitting over time so it wont matter what kind you put on. I agree with everyone else there is most likly a problem elswere.

| Found my problem yesterday. I was finally able to get under the truck. Found that I had a broken & partially missing pad on the inside of the right side disk. Bought new rotors & pads today.
