| I really...honestly...don't understand it all... I get the process but it's not really something I think I can do...just under experienced....I originally thought I could figure out the problem if I sent it to you guys who actually know wtf they're doing in that case. I really have no idea how to follow the tests and wouldn't have a clue as to the readings of said tests. Or the tools needed for said tests. I was hoping for a quick fix that I could handle. But now it looks like its twelve other things and I'm getting frustrated because I don't understand. I'm no mechanic, I'm a lawn guy...I could fix it if it was a ferris mower, or a dixie chopper...I do my own maintenance, oil, lube, sparks and wires, flushes what not..ya know little stuff. I wanted to go to school to learn, but that costs money. My friend is a certified mechanic but he doesn't have time for me and my little bs problems. So I came here in hopes of getting it back to normal on my own but I feel as if that too has failed. This is my first truck/car/vehicle but have helped several friends with their hoopties. I have an idea and I am a quick learner, but as for hands on I have little to none. |

your skill vs the complexity of this part of sytem, and the weird stuff that's coming up now, I'd do two things. First check the ign switch as best you can for bad connections. Second let a dealer take it on making sure you mention the key thing, as well as the airbag and radio/dash stuff. Sometimes you need the expensive tools and can't avoid it. Sorry. If we were all physically closer it might be a different gig as to troubleshooting. Sometimes you just gotta see stuff.

| i'm sorry man, i fell asleep when i got home and forgot all about ya. on the bright side, 12 hours of sleep sure does feel good. i'm with crab though, i was leaning toward a bad ignition feed, but was waiting for proof before i mentioned it. give me a chance to check some TSB's before you have it towed off to the dealership. |

| My CrAzY IDEA The light shut off on it's own when the outdoor temp stayed in the mid-upper 30's until now, still off. It hasn't dropped below 32 outside in several days so it cleared itself too...could this mean, just a guess, I have some sort of moisture or water in my brake fluid and when it get cold enough to freeze outside, it freezes and the abs comp goes ape s*** and bing, the light goes on. I think it's a good one. what do you guys think? |

| sounds like a wiring problem to me. warms up and the wire gets loose, gets cold and the wire gets tight. |

| I think that if you were as old as some of us , you don't need no ABS, just drive it like a non ABS![]() ![]()

Ha ha...I feel pretty old at 29 but still wouldn't like it locking up all the time in the rain, snow, emergency idiot pulled out in front of me situations. Ok, maybe still a wiring issue but for now it works so I'm happy. Just thought I was on to something, guess you guys like to shoot stuff down.

| No not shooting stuff down, Just advising that if the light is on you need to be aware of old style driving habits to be safe. when the light is on a scanner should tell you what sensor is triggering it
