Replacing AC Compressor

Clutch is making a grinding noise and it won't hold a refigerant charge. How difficult is it to replace the compressor on a 1995 GMC Sierra 350 V8? What are the steps?

dont believe that a 95 compressor clutch is sold seperately so there goes that idea. have you found the location of the leak?? replacing the compressor is going to be a waste of time until you find it. look for oil residue around connections and fittings. replacing the compressor is easy. it will require a evac pump (vacuum pump) and a reliable set of ac manifold gauges. might i also make the suggestion to buy the accumulator as well. parts houses will not give you the warranty unless you buy more than just the compressor. it only costs you another 50 bucks i believe.
before you get very far with this venture, locate the leak first off.
