Bad mileage with a 6.0l - Page 2

put it on a scanner and check for a weak sensor, when my 91 o2 sensor was getting weak the mpg would drop like that.

I had 2003 GMC 2500 4wd ext. cab shortbed same as your more or less 6.0L auto, the best i ever got was 13 to 13.5mpg during the summer months in the winter i would see avg. of 10 to 11mpg then when i plowed it would hurt ! maybe 8mpg? tops and i'm one to take off easy etc. etc. nobody i know got much diffrent then what i was getting some even got worse all those extra little things you can add or do to your truck cost more then you will see in mpg so really don't plan on getting any better then you are now ! sorry !

When I was working as a welder, my shop truck was a 2007 2500 with a 6.0..... I was lucky to pull 12 on the highway with my foot off the gas and cruise set at 65
