put it back together with a gear set or double roller chain, pontiac is known for the plastic comming off the gears and attacking the bearings

A good set of heads is what is going to make that engine to get up and go like from a GTO or a big car like an older Catalina.

jmlloar will become famous soon enough
Use the 3 bolt steel mounts on the block from a mid to late 70's car. The frame side clamshell rubber ones for the same car would be great too, but if I remember correctly the 3 bolt style will mate to your existing truck frame mounts. just unbolt them from the frame, bolt them to the engine and set it down in to center then mark the holes for the frame mounts to be re-bolted. All of the GM's from this era used a common crank centerline. And all used pretty much the same accessories with diff brackets attached. As for the trans almost all GM V8's, V6's, and inline 6's use the same bottom 2 bellhousing bolts and dowel pin's. If you use a piece of flat steel between the 2 you just have to drill the other holes in the plate to match the engine and trans. Then add the same thickness washers between the flywheel and torque converter to make it match. Instant adapter plate.

Although anything less than a stock TH400 or beefed up other trans's wont live long behind the poncho engine. The dist wire hooks right up. Untape the harness, flip the wires around, and the Alt will plug right up also. Oil sender wire will have to be made longer, or hose for the guage since the pont engine has it right above the filter on the pass side.

Any way why not use a pont engine in a GMC? GMC did it in the 40's and 50's from the factory.
