Is it a 1500 or 2500??

A freind of mine just bought a 2001 4x4 4 door short box. It has a 6.0L engine, 8 studs on wheels, GVWR on door post is 8600 lbs. Is this a 1500 or 2500? The book in glovebox says 1500, but I think thats wrong.

2500, I am pretty sure 1500's are 6 bolt.

2500, 1500 hd i think stops about 7200.
2500 hd is 9000

Yes there was some 1500 HD's but the salemen didn't push them much so they could make more money off of the 2500 I once asked a saleman about it he said no they don't make 1500 HD and they never have I just walked away. That's one thing I dislike is when the buyer knows more about what there buying then the one selling it.

They absolutely made a 1500HD. It was only available in with the crew cab, and the tag on the door is correct. Your buddy's got himself a rather unique truck. There wasn't a lot of demand for them, which I think is self explanatory.
