410 does not mean at the wheels. that is at the flywheel/flexplate. and that does not mean that you will achieve those numbers. dont get us wrong, we do believe that you are going to be putting up alot mor power than what a stock 350 does. but 380 on the ground is too good a number from the setup you have there.

I am still a little fuzzy here.
Has the shortblock been re-built?? What are those specs? This entire package will be based upon the short block. There will be a huge difference between a used engine and a fresh one. The pistons dish or dome will determine compression and this will have a greater effect on total performance.
Where does the Throttle Body fit into this equation? Eddy packages utilize a dual plane intake manifold for carb engines?
You are not putting 3 thousand dollars worth of performance goodies on a stock short block with lots of miles are you?
What kind of goodies does the bottom end include?
You running the roller cam? Whick rockers are you planning on running?

for the price of that top end, you could have got a long block for just a little more $.

Ummmm, yeah. I dont want to rain on anyones parade here, but a mild big block (real one, 454) would cost about the same, and would be in the 1hp per cubic inch area easy.

We will see how this plays out. I try not to share personal opinions anymore. Last fella got a little fussy.
I also do not want to offend this member.
This package can be a real fire breather, if the additional components can suport it. I believe this is what the topic was anyway.
I would like to know if this package is going on a stock bottom end or a re-built one. If re-built, I am interested in the specs. The original post implied that the bottom end was stock, and led me to believe that some top end goodies would be installed. Now we see that it might be an agressive roller cam and some large runner heads. Compression will be the deal breaker here. This package will not net too much power on a tired engine.
I can appreciate a 400 plus horsepower small block, I have a few, but I have spent a ton of dough to get there.
Maybe I can learn from another combo.
Always willing to learn.

im not sure about about the roller rockers but he had a holley carb in his garage that hes puttin oni... not sure which one though.... as for the bottom end, i didnt think it would increase compression unless i changed out the pistons and crank.... im new to the v8 world so constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.... and yes the bottom end was rebuilt to factory specs around 40,000 miles ago...... i wont get fussy so pleas tell me all your opinions

compression will change if your new heads have a different volume then your older heads. off the top of my head, i believe your old heads are 72cc, don't quote me on that though.
