| Thanks for the diagram pic. I've printed it off for my mechanic. For parts, I managed to acquire a solid bottom end and now am just lining everything up for the top end. And we'll have to do something for the exhaust too. Here's a top end kit I am considering: Edelbrock 2098 Power Package Kit I want to do this project within reasonable budget, so I'm not sure if $1700 on a top end kit alone is worth it. I just need a nice intake and carbs, so maybe we'll just pick and choose each part rather than get a kit like this. The vision is to ideally reach 450 hp with lot's of torque on the low to mid range. |

| i don't mean to rain on your parade , but if you start making the kind of hp things are going to brake 4x4 or not , so plan on beefing up the drive train , still think you'd be better off with fi . shd |

| I rebuilt a 1977 350 carburated and put it in a 1989 k1500 4x4. It ran good until the transfer case went out. I still have that engine and will reuse it someday I am sure. The only problem I had was slight. I had to get a fuel regulator to decrease the fuel pressure from the electronic intank fuel pump. Of course I did away with all the Emission stuff.

| For the exhaust, would you recommend a manifold or headers ? We're wondering if headers would fit on this 4x4 truck ? |

| Okay here is my tentative parts list and estimated prices. Your constructive criticism, comments, and recommendations are appreciated ! Carb: Holley 04778c. Found a killer deal on an even better block today so things are going smooth so far. My mechanic friend is pretty ballzy he evidently wants to try and push this thing to 600 HP. I was like buddy there is no way, but he seems confident we can get well into the 500's so we'll see. Let me know if you have any more tips or recomendations. |

| The Power Plus Hurricane intake from Professional Products is a single plane 360 degree design that provides power in the 3000 to 7500 rpm range. It's an ideal manifold for drag racing or short track racing and its port are very specifically positioned to provide the optimum starting point for custom porting the intake seems kind of overkill to me. any particular reason you have decided on this style?? a good victor jr. single plane intake will do everything that you want plus some. |

This is a good point. It is after all only a half ton. The last thing I want to do is bend the frame on the first day. | |
