Needing Shop Manual

My fire dept has a 83 C6000 4x4. The transfer case chatters like no tomorrow, even though the truck only has about 5K on it. I am pretty sure it can be solved by some shimming or adjustment in the transfer case, but without a manual on it, I am hesitant to tear into it. If anybody knows where I might be able to buy, borrow or pilfer one, please let me know.

you might try these people ,they may have one to sell . Factory Auto Manuals is a specialist dealer in quality used factory car manuals. We are the Automotive Manual People! i have purchased a few from them in the past and they helped .

Has the spline been properly lubed so the shaft moves in and out?

I appreciate the lead on the book. I will check it out.

Not sure about the spline, will look at that too. It just seems like it is in the chain drive inside, due to the fact the chatter is cyclical and not constant. But I will check the shaft and the fluid level this weekend.
