| how do I get a reader to work I have a 1995 GMC k1500 sierra with a 5.0, that has a random miss..... I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor and pcv valve........ The only time that it is doing it is when I am idling...... then when under a load, like going up a hill it makes a grinding/pinging noise.. and doesn't have the power it once had... since it started my mileage dropped from 23 on hwy to 16........ any ideas??? I tried reading codes, but am not getting power to the port...... |

| check the fuse for the lighter for the power problem. sounds like the O2 may be weak, you will need a scanner to read it. the pinging is spark knock, did you disturb the timing or knock the wire off that you disconnect for setting the timing?

| The miss started before I changed everything...... and nothing this far has helped it..... I'll try jumping the code.......one of my friends was wondering if It might be my cam or valves.... Is this a possibility? |
