| They are good. From what I hear, they are the best locker money can buy as far as strength, and know for a fact they work better than a limited slip. A bit noisy, but well worth it. Only noisy on a turn or backing up. |

| Stump, did you say this was into a GM corporate 14 bolt 10.5 rear? And that they don't make the carrier for this rear end, they make the parts and you installed it into an open diff right? Can we ask how much is cost or is that getting to personal? My 86 3/4 ton also has the GM corporate rear end. I was thinking of trying the Lock Right since it is just remove the spiders and install the Lock Right. Its $300. Being the rear end is full floating axles you don't even have to jack it up to install this lock right. Now I am having 2nd thoughts about the Lock Right, because one of the sales people were telling me its only rated for 350hp. I know myself to well, and although this 454 is stock now, I start feeling a little torque and I will be wanting more. |

| No, they are not loud. You can just hear them. A little bit of clanging around is all. Nothing serious or extreme. Usually if you have modified exhaust you can not hear it over the exhaust. |

| the detroits are priced around 500 bucks, and install in to an open 14T (10.5") rear carrier, and finding an open carrier should be easy and hopefully free, although new ones are 250. Very easy install, pull axles out, back out carrier adjusters, split carrier, yank out spiders install detroit, close carrier, remove detroit retainging bolt, re-assemble into truck with correct backlash, install cover, axles and oil and ready to go!, i took me about 3.5 hours to do it.

| Cool. I do believe that is what is my 86 3/4 ton. I had never heard it called a 14T though. It is the GM Corporate 14 Bolt 10.5. Is that also reffered to as the 14T? Mine is an open diff right now. So I should not have a problem installing the locker. As I said, I was going to go with the Lock Right by Richmond gear. It is also noisy installs the same way in an open diff. I found it for $290, but its only rated at 350 horsepower. $200 more and I'd have the best of the best and if I ever added performance to the motor, I wouldn't have to worry about breaking it. I may go the Detroit route when the time comes. |

| yeah, randys ring and pinion refers to the 14 bolt 10.5" as the 14T, but we are talking about the same rear end, my bro installed a trachtech unit which is essentially the same as the lock right, he has a mild 350 and its pooched, shoulda spent the cash on something tougher, but he also is running an 8.5" gm, (weak) and he runs 37" tires..lol

| That will do it too. This guy that sells Lock Right, told me nothing over a 32in tire, and nothing over 350hp. Sounds to me its worth its money being it is so inexpensive but not for anything extremely aggressive. I would not be afraid to use in in my box van. It runs a small tire, although dual, but that is just not a truck I get very aggresive with. Because its a heavy truck, it does like to get stuck alot out at the property after a decent rain. If you stop and park, it will sink a few inches in a matter of about 10 minutes, then when you go to leave, you aren't going anywhere but straight down. I would hope this light to medium duty locker will work for that truck with a Dana 60. But I probably need to go with the Detroit in the 86 3/4 with the 454. |

Did the road handling change much with a full locker? Just asking because I'm getting a Detroit as well in the next few weeks for my 14-bolt.
