98 GMC AC Compressor Won't Shut Off

I have a 1998 GMC 1500 5.7L 4X4, I noticed that i was always getting cold air out the floor when I would shut the air controls off. I checked under the hood and noticed that the clutches on the AC Compressor are always engaged.

So for now I unplugged the compressor for now but would like to figure out this problem.

I replaced the AC relay and did not get a change.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next??
Thanks.

The vent flapper doors? Because i have been having trouble with the air flow, after running for so long the air flow out of all vents quits. but the blower motor is still working.

Is this what you mean or is it another issue??

system could be overcharged causing the compressor to run constantly.

What would cause the system to overcharge??

Would the flapper doors problem be related to the compressor problem??

The system inside, is calling for cold, therefore the comrpressor is running....fix the inside problems and the compressor should run as needed
