Truck alarm

The only way I can unlock my truck door to enter I must use my remote to unlock the door, if I use the key (you know the old fashion way) to unlock it the !?@* alarm goes off. Is there anyway to shut that off. The truck salesman and the service dept says that there is no way.

i am by far an alarm knowledgable person, but a model and year might help those that do know something about them.

Call gm customer service, you should be able to unlock it then put the key in within a certain amount of time without it going off

Guessing here, but there's a switch on the back side of the door lock cylinder, when actuated by using the key to unlock the door, it disarms the vehicle theft deterrent system.. not necessary when using the remote as the Remote Function Actuator sends a independent signal to the BCM to disarm the VTD.

If your truck has Content Theft Deterrent ... the only way to lock the truck without arming the system is as follows.. Lock the doors using the key (not the remote) and unlock it the same way when you are ready to re-enter the vehicle.
Once CTD has been armed (arming is innitiated by using the key FOB to lock the vehicle) it must be disarmed through theuse of the FOB
