A filter is a good place to start, cut it open when you get it off and see if there is garbage inside
it may take a few miles to plug a filter if you got a bad load!

it is not unusual. remember that sediment can contaminate 1 gallon of gas alot worse than say 30 gallons of gas. same thing if you have water in the system.
you do not necesarily have to cut the filter open if you choose not to. you can remove it and pour it out into a clean glass, not styrofoam cup, and evaluate what you get. i have done this and gotten rust out, put a new filter on, and the vehicle run like a champ.
by the way, that OBD2 is nothing more than a code reader. this is no way a diagnostic machine nor scanner.

Well, I went to where it the truck is sitting and changed out the filter. It ran just fine for a few minutes and ran good at higher rpm's, prior to this it would run 15 seconds tops. It then gradually started to fade bit and I could tell it was not getting gas like it should and then it would quit running.

When we filled with gas yesterday (Sunday) they told us we needed to use get the mid-grade gas as they were having problems with the reg unleaded. Tonight I called the station and I was told that they in fact had run out of unleaded when we had gotten there (instead of having a "problem" with it).
I am thinking we may have gotten some sediment that was in the tank/line from them running out of unleaded. Maybe a combination of the unleaded and mid-grade tank as this station had just recently re-opened after having been closed for a year.
In the morning I am having it towed to the dealer to have them look at it and see if it is the fuel. In that case I believe I will be looking to the station to cover this deal.

Any thoughts?

it will help if you can find other people having problems after getting gas there

thats good news guy. you now have a good idea what the problem is. the last time something like this happened to me, you really arent going to like this story, i had to drop my gas tank and drain it. you can put the gas in several jugs depending on how much you have, and let it sit overnight. covered. the sediment should settle and be able to use the gas on top so it wont be a total loss.
really hate to hear that this has happened but it isnt anything completely devastating.

The truck arrived at the dealer a short bit ago. This afternoon I should know something... but everything I see points to the gas as being the issue. I will update when I know something.

another thought, save the filters and any foreign material if possable to prove the contamination

From reading this thread, ny first guess would be a clogged fuel filter... check your fuel pressure.. startup and watch it while it sputters out.
Worst case , you'll end up installing a fuel pump if it's not the filter..
