My turn lol. I bet that when you bought the truck you did not have the camper on the truck. So take the camper off and test drive it again.

That extra weight is placing a lot more weight on the wheel bearing that was more than likely already going out. After you take the camper off the noise should lighten up some if not go away all together.

Try that out

That's an awful lot of work just to see if the noise goes away. Easier, IMHO, to just inspect the bearings.

It did make the noise before the camper was installed. Having the camper on it doesn't make any difference.

That camper isn't too tough to take off and put on, as long as the ground is level, and as long as it isnt real windy. Only a few moments of sheer terror when the tail end clears, or when you're trying to center. After that, piece of cake . I can not imagine trying to raise that thing high enough to get into a Topkick (but a ton & a half would be optimum for that thing).

Now it is leaking tranny fluid, which it was not doing before.

Ack!

Uh-oh... Can you see where it's leaking from? A rear seal or pan gasket would be the easiest to fix.

We aren't sure, my husband thinks that it may have blown out the relief valve last time we had it out, loaded and in traffic. The seal looks dry, but when it leaked, it blew onto everything in the vicinity, making everything wet, so it is hard to tell what the culprit is.

There is a valve up top of the transmission, it looks to be a pressure relief fitting of some sort, shaped kind of like a mushroom.

I'm trying to picture this in my mind, and understand what you're talking about, but I'm not getting it. What engine and transmission do you have in the truck?
