Quick issue. Smoke when I start it... Just a small issue i hope, its done it since i bought it. But, my 89 k1500 has a rebuilt top half of the engine...And when i start it there is smoke that puffs out the exhaust but then its done. Like it burns oil right at startup.Anybody know what it could be?

sounds like valve seal guides to me. lucky for you that this is an easy fix provided you own a valve spring compressor and know how to do it without dropping a valve, whoops!!! i just recently had the same problem and was able to put in the thick oil treatment stuff put out by STP. it did slow it down and eventually stop the leak where i no longer had to oil every so often. you might try that first. it costs you very little for the bottle and the seal guides are very cheap also but more work.

Up here in the North Canada Tire sells a product called "Leak Stop" that does a great job on valve seals and rear crank seals. Add one to your oil each time you change it. Unless its real bad it does an amazing job.
