| 04 sierra supercharger I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 4.8L. I have always wanted to put turbo or a superchager on it. I found one turbo kit here STS - 1999-2006 GM Sierra/Silverado 4.8L/5.3L Tuner Turbo System - Turbochargers.com and two superchager kits ProCharger High Output Intercooled Tuner Kit Supercharger GMC Sierra 1500-3500 0 Vivid Racing and MagnaCharger Radix Supercharger Kit GMC Sierra 2004 Vivid Racing I'm thinking that the supercharger might be the better way to go. Whats the difference b/t the two superchargers and would i have to make any other mods or is it a straight bolt on kit. And one kit has upgrade options: 3 Core Intercooler Upgrade ( + $345.00 ) D-1SC SuperCharger ( + $450.00 ). What should i go with. I'm gonna keep everything else pretty much stock for now, can the stock engine handle it? Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. |

| read the fine print. Base kit does not include a FMIC, blow off valve, fuel injectors, tuning or boost-a-pump. **Complete kit includes front mount intercooler, blow off valve, Predator tuning device, 44# injectors and Boost-a-pump. Price for complete kit is $4995.00! i have seen a few other kits that are a little less involved for the same amount of money. which are you wanting to put on there?? be careful in how you choose as one is alot different than the other when it comes to cutting into that exhaust and repiping it. |

| Yea dude, if your stock internals aren't built up like that one guy said your sure as **** not gonna be running for very long on forced induction. Especially on a 4.8L Last edited by Faxcion; 08-27-2009 at 02:32 AM. Reason: Cause i wasnt done |

The 4.8 is the same basic design as the 5.3, 6.0, 6.2 etc. Externally these engines look almost identical. The 4.8's shorter stroke actually makes it a perfect engine for boost. | |
