Heat / AC 1-5 switch

the knob that turns the fan on 1-5 only turns it on when it gets to 3...back to 2 is like turning it off to zero.

..any ideas?

i would think your stepped resister is bad. Thats my guess. I remember a problem like that a while ago.

resister is bad and probably needs a new wire harness plug, it is recommended to change both

I speak from experience

but it takes some time to splice all those wires

and i never did get that last bolt in the plastic cover by the tranny hump

.I know there is a relay in the fuse box but it's new...

Heck I don't know either. I was going off the basic knowledge of how the fan motor speed switch works.
