thanks for info. im trying to keep the heihgt down, do you think i could do 3 in lift and lots of fender trimming since my fenders are rottted out anyways. otherwaise its going to 6 in lift to get them to fit.

remember that you have to account for flex of the suspension with these tires. im sure that they would fit with a 3in lift but the second you bounce over a driveway with a slope on it, you are going to being chewing those puppies up. i saw a guy yesterday with what appeared to be 40s or 42s on his brand new chevy. each tire was not more than 4 inches away from the corners of the fenders. he thought it looked cool but i think he would look dumb with constant driving and articulation and suddenly, rattle, rattle, rattle, pop.

blocks are the cheapest but very unreliable. bigger leaf springs would be a good place to start. as for the front end, i am not familiar with the vehicle you have. 4wd?? straight front axle or independent suspension??

| Well seeing as we are talking lifts here what are some good brands? I started a thread about lifts but no one wants to talk. ![]()

OK. Another subject I can help on, yay! I don't recommend going bigger than 31s on an S10/S15, unless you feel like snapping CV shafts. I have a 93 Jimmy with cranked torsion bars & add-a-leaves in the rear. It lifted it about 2" & I barely squeeze 29x10.50 Interco tires while I used to have an 83 with no lift & 30s. TB crank & add-a-leaf is the only "cheap" lift method available unless you get a body lift. Otherwise you are looking at spending $1,200 on up or fabbing a solid axle swap. Sell the 33s & use the money to buy a decent set of smaller tires. Trust me, I can go most places in mine with 29s as I have with full size trucks running 35s. I can almost keep pace with my Samurai on 33s & I showed up a CJ-5 running 31s.

use extreme caution cranking torsion bars. it throws geometry off it rocker and can affect the amount of travel of the front end. something else i forgot to bring up until Rago said something. depending on how wide the 33s are, you might have to do something else with the front end as the tire will be too wide to do any kind of steering. either that or purchase some aftermarket wheels with some serious backspacing.
