| Yep, they got that one right. I had the same problem in my 64 GMC all the time. It was so easy to get to I just never replaced it. I just would reconnect the springs and it would work on Low-Med-High just fine. When it got to only on High again, I knew the resistor spring came unattatched again and would just turn the spring so it interlocked with another coil. Just kept repairing the same resistor. It lasted over 5 years that way, with about 3 maybe 4 reconnections.

| Thank you Leo. I was wondering if that question was directed at me. Yeah, now a days they are more of a solid state type. Back then, they were exposed springs. I'll see if I can find a pic somewhere when I get a bit of time.

| Jeppers !!! Except the one for my 64 did not have the metal cage around the springs, so it was very easy just to reconnect the spring when it broke. Naturally that is going to change the rpm of the fan motor a bit, but nevertheless, it worked fine. Thanks for doing that homework for me. ![]()
