heat/AC motor only works on high speed ??

My 2001 2500HD GMC SLE has a 5 speed fan dial switch. The fan will only come on at top speed (5). Anyone had this issue? Trying to figure out if its the switch or the motor?

Welcome to the forum trx680.

Sounds like your blower resistor gave up the ghost.
So neither the switch nor motor.

Common occurence.
When you go to pull it, inspect for other problems like melted wires.
Should look like this I believe.

I dont see a picture here. Where is this blower resistor located?

we just talked about mine doing something similar and I had pics there...Now mine is just 4-5 instead of 3-4-5 going to fix mine soon...just been busy

Well...there are 2 little boxes screwed into the blower housing...The darker pic is under the glove box
